This was the movie that catapulted Jean into
the limelight. Production began with the movie as a silent, but producer/director
Howard Hughes decided to start all over again filming it as a "talkie".
This meant recasting the female lead, since the original actress had a
rather heavy accent. Enter the 18-year-old Jean Harlow... and the
rest is history - as is her most famous (and oft-misquoted) line, "Would
you be shocked if I put on something more comfortable?"
